Sweet Pepper Rainbow
The sweet pepper rainbow has finally arrived!
Pictured here are just some of our sweet pepper rainbow coming out of the field right now! We've got:
Jimmy Nardello (long, skinny, and red)-known as an Italian frying pepper and originating from the Basilicata region of southern Italy -- fruity, creamy, and soft when fried
Ashe County Pimento (round and red)-hailing from Western North Carolina, they have a concentrated sweetness and mild pepperiness (think pimento cheese). You can stuff them like bell peppers or roast and puree for a spread/dip
Zulu Sweet (eggplant black, bell shape)-from Poland with a sweet smokey flavor -- great for salsa and salads to add an extra dimension
Criollo de Cocina (like a small, wrinkled bell)-from Nicaragua - a strong, sweet pepper flavor that intensifies when cooked
Violet Sparkle (violet or red with purple stripes in a medium heart shape)-originating in Russia, great for raw eating!
Padron (green long cone)-originally from the Galicia region in Northwestern Spain -- a sweet wildcard with some ZING -- use when you don't mind some surprises
Eggplants Galore
Another fresh-picked pic showing off a variety of egg plant and sweet green bell peppers.
