A July Glimpse of Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm

July is peak season at Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm

  • partly because it is the peak month for our namesake (TOMATOES),

  • partly because it is a peak growing and harvesting month for the Maryland climate in general, and

  • as the middle of summer it is also a transition month throughout the field -- turning under spent crops and planting cover crops for soil renewal, sowing new seeds, and a daily cycle of ripening and harvesting!


Here are some pictures showing what is growing, blooming, fluttering, and transitioning on the farm this month. We hope you enjoy this glimpse of small, local, sustainable agriculture in motion.
