We know this is the first weekend of the Great Frederick Fair -- we hope you will visit us before you head over or after you spend a couple of morning hours over there. Or, maybe you want to spend your whole Saturday on Hollow Road with visits to Chocolates and Tomatoes and Summers Farm.
We encourage you to learn about local agriculture at the fair and see all the neat creative stuff that community members create and submit for judging (Teresa's favorite part of the fair).
Cool weather veggies that is.... the straight-from-the-field broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts pictured below are some examples of what you will find at the Chocolates and Tomatoes On-Farm Outdoor Market on Saturday, September 13
We've also got plenty of Winter Squash and Sweet Potatoes
Plenty more veggies that provide a tasty treat throughout the spring, summer, and fall (and a few summer holdovers like the last of the season tomatoes). All the ones pictured below plus also salad mix, spinach, sweet and hot pepper mix, beets, and probably something I have forgotten to mention.
We will have other treats as always -- apples are here this week! Plus,
Chocolate
Eggs
Honey
Sourdough bread
Hen & Hearth maple granola that has become a tent favorite
And, Chef Missy will be joining us with the Gingerbread Boys that she baked to support Frederick Community College students in the Gingerbread Intensive
After this Saturday, you will still be able to order and pick up your favorite veggie and sweet treats; we just won't have the tents up for the rest of the year. Learn more here about how to get your favorites during the "off" season.
