If you like the outdoors, check out national, state, and community parks in Frederick and Washington County Maryland. There are lots of historical and battlefield sites. Routes If You Are a Local or Once You Get to Town

If you are local, you probably have your favorite way of getting to Hollow Road. You might not know there are lots of options for you (to detour around construction or seasonal traffic). For example, some folks have said they are worried about traffic from events at Summer's Farm.

  • We don't see that traffic on our part of Hollow Road at Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm. So, we think if you avoid the turn from ALT-40 Old National Pike onto Hollow Road (the High's, Shell Gas, Alekos, Bill Moran Museum), you should be OK. The best way to do that depends on what direction you are coming from.

    • You can see many options on the embedded map to cross over from ALT-40 Old National Pike to Hwy 40 West Baltimore National Pike

    • From the southwest, you might take Myersville Rd to Valley View Rd and then turn right on Hollow Rd

    • From the east (Frederick), you might get directly on Baltimore National Pike (stay right when W. Patrick St splits). Then you take a left onto Hollow Rd.

    • Coming from Hwy 70 west, turn left at the bottom of the ramp onto ALT-40 Old National Pike. Turn Right on Ridge road (your first light). Turn left on Hwy 40 West Baltimore National Pike and then left on Hollow Rd.

  • If you are in Foxfield, you will know better than us if you are running into traffic problems turning onto Hollow Road from Layla Dr.

    • Don't forget, you can also go out the other side of Foxfield!

    • Go from Layla to Smithfield to Coblentz -- that gets you to ALT-40/E Main Street (near-ish to the Safeway). If coming to see us, then go right on E Main, right on Hwy 17/N Church/Myersville Rd, right on Valley View, and right on Hollow Rd
