Fall/Holiday Activities at Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm

As work in the field becomes less intensive, we offer more classes, move to online ordering only (rather than market tents), and have more frequent, indoor Sweet Shop hours. See below for ordering and pick up hours, and classes throughout the fall and holidays until we begin our long winter's rest (12/18/2023-1/31/2024).

Buy Your Veggies and Get a Sweet Treat: Order Online

Order by 11pm on Thursdays for Saturday pick-ups (at the purple door). Open most weeks through Thanksgiving, but check schedule below to be sure. If you are taking a class, you can order online and then request to pick up after class.

Chef Mark demonstrates and discusses the "how-tos," gives you the chance to practice, and creates a fun space for learning with all your senses.   • Baking Bread

    • Making Soft Pretzels and Pairings: 9/15, 10/13

    • Three-Part Sourdough Class (learn how to make the bread we sell on the farm!):

      • Part 1 (register separately): Sourdough Bread Starter, 10/17

      • Parts 2 & 3 (register together): Making Sourdough Bread, 10/24 and 10/25

  • Charm with Chocolate and Candy

    • Coloring and Filling Chocolate Truffles (just like the ones you buy in the chocolate shop!): 9/24, 10/22, 12/8

    • Making Rolled Chocolate Truffles: 10/14

    • Making Caramels, Toffees, and Gummies: 9/22, 10/28

    • Making Chocolate Snap and Shine (tempering): 11/10,

    • Making Chocolate Melt-aways: 12/2

  • Divine Desserts

    • Sweet and Savory Pies for Fall Celebrations (with farm fresh sweet potatoes). A two-part class: 11/11 and 11/12

      • Day 1: Making 4 types of pie dough (need to chill overnight)

      • Day 2: Making fillings and baking pies

    • Entertaining with Entremets (Mousse Cakes) -- a two-part class: 12/9 and 12/10

      • Day 1: Make the components of your petite gateau (small cake)

      • Day 2: Unmold and decorate

      • Take home your mousse cake for 4 to serve right away or freeze for up to 1 month

    • Decorate Your Gingerbread House and Yard: 12/17

  • Veggie Variations (veggies are fresh from the Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm fields; sustainably grown with no sprays)
